Once you start coverage with your home insurance or rental home insurance, an inspection may be done (depending on your insurance company). Sometimes the inspection may be a quick outside inspection. These inspections are usually fairly quick just to verify the features of your house compared to what was imputed on your application. If you have a high value home insurance, it may be required that they do an interior inspection also.
Depending on the insurance company, they may also give you an appraisal. This is more common with high value home insurance carriers.
